Cynthia Ann Crawford was born February 20, 1966. She is an American model, actress and a TV host. In the 80s and 90s, she was a popular supermodel and was a regular on runways and magazines, and also in fashion campaigns. Then, she branched out into the business world and acting. In her sophomore year at high school, she was contacted by an email from a local clothing store regarding modeling work which she later discovered was a prank played by two of her fellow classmates. But, in the next year, another store employed a group of high school students and, in particular Crawford and her sister, to do work for them (including an event for fashion). Roger Legel (a local photographer) approached Crawford during her junior year to shoot her. The project included a shoot with Crawford to be published in the magazine. Her enthusiastic feedback and the image encouraged her to take up modeling. At first, she worked for a small agency. Elite Model Management sold her to the agency soon after she signed. In 1983, she entered Elite's Look of the Year contest at the age of 17 and was selected for the national finals.
