Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American actor and performer who began her career with innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a an edgy, comical perspective. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. After a classical and jazz education her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies and took up a degree in women's studies as well as journalism. For a brief period of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus on music. The song My Vag which was her reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick, became a popular viral sensation on the Internet and later appeared on her first LP Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks like body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC BitcheUSD. The song was directly connected to Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. Her resume contained both an the musician and author. She was now looking to expand her career into acting. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors to Storks. In 2018, her breakthrough roles included Dude Ocean's 8 along with Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
